01 July 2026 – Amsterdam: TCCA has announced a new Board chair and vice-chair following the retirement of long-standing chair Mladen Vratonjić, who has led the Association since 2015.  Tero Pesonen from Erillisverkot Finland becomes the new chair, and Nina Myren from the Norwegian Communications Authority (Nkom) is the new vice-chair.

Formerly vice-chair, Tero is also currently chair of TCCA’s Critical Communications Broadband Group, a position he has held since 2014. A Working Group of TCCA, the CCBG drives the development and adoption of common global mobile broadband standards and solutions for users who operate in a mission critical or business critical environment. A new CCBG chair will be elected at the plenary meeting taking place in September.

Tero has almost 30 years’ experience in critical communications, with responsibilities that have ranged from highly technical assignments in global standards creation to understanding the field operational procedures of key players in critical communications. He has been involved with the professional mobile radio communication business since 1997, originally promoting and organising TETRA interoperability activities, and was a founder member of TCCA’s Technical Forum.

Tero is involved in groundbreaking work related to new opportunities in mission-critical broadband. He works closely with major public safety and critical infrastructure operators and users in guiding the sector to create advanced solutions to meet mission-critical requirements. He represents TCCA in 3GPP activities, and is a frequent presenter, moderator and panellist in major industry events such as TCCA’s flagship event Critical Communications World.

New vice chair Nina Myren is Specialist Director at Nkom’s department for Public Safety Communication. Nkom is the Norwegian telecommunications regulator and is responsible for the Norwegian Public Safety Broadband project. Nina is a director and Board member of TCCA and chair of TCCA’s Legal and Regulatory Working Group, which is open to government operator TCCA members. Nina is also involved in the Mission Critical Communications  Group (MCCG) work, including satellite communications projects, led by the European Commission’s DG HOME.

Nina has been involved in the development and introduction of Norway’s countrywide TETRA network, Nødnett, since its inception in 2004. She has had leadership responsibilities both within the satellite and critical communications sector, including as a Public Safety Radio Network operator. She holds a Master`s degree in Technology Management and Telecommunications  and works with all strategic aspects of providing mission critical services to end users, including technical, political and societal considerations.

TCCA’s Board for 2026-27 is: Chair Tero Pesonen, Erillisverkot; vice-chair Nina Myren, Norwegian Communications Authority; Peter Hudson, Sepura; Jukka Vialen, Airbus Defence and Space; Guilherme Pizzato, Nokia; Renaud Mellies, French Ministry of the Interior; Jason Johur, Ericsson; Cate Walton, UK Home Office, and Ricardo Gonzalez, Motorola Solutions. The meeting included a tour of the CCW 2027 venue RAI Amsterdam – planning begins now!
