Following a comprehensive assessment process, the business has once again been awarded industry-leading certifications for cyber security, quality management systems, and environmental management.
Backed by the UK government’s National Cyber Security Centre, the Cyber Essentials certification scheme assesses the effectiveness of an organisation’s security controls, including firewalls, secure configuration, user access control, malware protection, and patch management.
Sepura has achieved Cyber Essentials Plus recertification, the most rigorous level of certification, which in addition to the technical audit, involves passing a series of simulated internal vulnerability scans and external vulnerability scans conducted by the certification body. This award builds on ISO/IEC 27001: Information Security Management accreditation, which Sepura has held since 2022 and forms part of our ongoing commitment to stay up to date with the latest standards.
"Through the diligent work of our IT team over several months, we are proud to have achieved the highest level of cyber security certification available in the UK. Thanks to input from all the departments across Sepura, we excelled in the audit and demonstrated to our customers that our organisation and data is protected from common cyber threats." Alex Crook, Head of IT, Sepura
In addition to Cyber Essentials Plus, Sepura has also achieved recertification of its ISO 9001: 2015 and ISO 14001: 2015 for Quality and Environmental Management in 2024. These were awarded by the UKAS accredited body, the British Standards Institute, following an onsite audit of our management systems.
Both certifications assess the processes and systems that an organisation has in place to deliver and maintain a high level of quality and environmental standards. To gain ISO9001 (Quality Management Systems) recertification, Sepura presented compelling evidence of continuous process and product improvement to enhance customer satisfaction, and innovation to maintain our position as a critical communications leader.
:As one of our core values here at Sepura, quality is a central tenet of how we operate internally and in every interaction with our customers. Achieving ISO 9001 is one way we can demonstrate our commitment to constantly improving our offerings to customers – and that we do that by listening carefully to their needs and where possible exceeding their expectations. Philip Tye, Quality Manager at Sepura
ISO 14001 (Environmental Management System) examined Sepura’s approach to reducing our environmental impact and meeting relevant regulations. To achieve this certification, we demonstrated comprehensive risk management, a detailed plan for measured improvement over time, and our commitment to working towards the aspiration of net zero.
"Maintaining and recertifying to ISO 14001 is a cornerstone of our wider ESG strategy, and a continuation of our environmental stewardship efforts." Daniel Foster, ESG Manager at Sepura
