The San Pasqual Band of Mission Indians is connecting its police, fire, education, public works and other departments to FirstNet, built with AT&T – the only network built with and for America’s first responders and the extended public safety community.

Connecting to FirstNet equips the tribe with new technological capabilities and reliable access to critical information, allowing tribal officials and public safety personnel to better serve their community.
FirstNet is delivering interoperable communications across public safety entities nationwide, allowing first responders, tribal officials and others to communicate with one another easily and quickly.

“We appreciate the ease in which we collaborated with AT&T to ensure our tribal leadership and first responders can stay connected with FirstNet when and where they need it most across the reservation,” said San Pasqual Chairman Stephen W. Cope. “Whether we are responding to emergencies or experiencing severe weather, FirstNet allows us to have the priority and preemption, that helps keep our first responders and community safer.”

The band has activated FirstNet on more than 100 smartphones, tablets and hotspots. It plans to expand to their fleet services, including 75 vehicles that will utilize FirstNet’s Geotab device for fleet asset tracking and analytics.

“Adopting FirstNet enables our tribal personnel and first responders to leverage critical technology and communications to rapidly respond to emergencies,” said Robert E. Bishop, the tribe’s chief of police. “AT&T has been a valued and responsive partner, helping us enhance connectivity across Tribal lands to aid our community safety efforts.”

The band joined FirstNet to provide tribal officials, first responders and government departments access to an entire public safety ecosystem of mission-ready tools and capabilities.

More than 1,800 tribes and California agencies have joined FirstNet, built with AT&T.
