The Loss Prevention Foundation (LPF), an international leader in educating and certifying retail loss prevention (LP) and asset protection (AP) professionals, proudly welcomes Motorola Solutions as one of its newest doctorate-level member organizations. The collaboration helps to increase access to vital educational resources for retail loss prevention practitioners.
As a doctorate member, Motorola Solutions joins LPF’s network of companies dedicated to supporting education, training and best practices in LP/AP. Membership directly supports the expansion of two certifications administered by LPF, including the LPQualified (LPQ) and LPCertified (LPC) designations, as well as access to course scholarships, webinars and professional-level memberships for skilled personnel working in LP/AP capacities.
"It's fantastic to welcome Motorola Solutions as a doctorate member," said Caroline Kochman, President, LPF. "Their collaboration underscores the importance that members place on loss prevention education."
Motorola Solutions builds and connects security technologies that are purpose-built for retail to enhance safety, operational efficiency, customer service and store profitability. Some of these solutions include video security powered by AI analytics to automatically detect long lines, unusual activity or fraudulent transactions, access control to secure doors, body cameras to protect employees, communications to connect teams and stores, and mobile apps to create a better shopping experience, such as finding inventory or checking prices at the shopper's side.
An independent research study of more than 1,000 U.S. retail associates and managers conducted on behalf of Motorola Solutions in 2024 found that one in four retail workers has considered leaving their job because of safety concerns. Embracing modern security technologies and taking a proactive approach to safety can help retailers create a safer environment for their workers and shoppers alike.
“Motorola Solutions is working to address retailers’ most pressing challenges, from theft and staffing shortages to the safety of staff and patrons,” said Clay Cassard, vice president, Global Enterprise Solutions. “We're excited to support LPF in pursuit of our joint goal of building a more resilient, thriving and secure future for all shoppers and retailers.”
