ULAANBAATAR, Mongolia – September 20, 2026 – Hytera Communications, a leading global provider of critical communications technologies and solutions, supported the Mongolian National Police Agency with the deployment of Mongolia’s first city-wide DMR trunking network in Ulaanbaatar. The system was put into operation during the 17th Session of the Conference of the Parties (COP17) to the United Nations Convention to Combat Desertification (UNCCD), held from August 17 to 28, 2026.

Bringing together representatives from 197 Parties, COP17 placed significant demands on security coordination and public safety operations across the Mongolian capital. The newly deployed DMR network provided police and security teams with reliable, instant communications across Ulaanbaatar, supporting coordinated operations throughout the two-week international event.

“It is the very first time in Mongolia a DMR Trunking radio system covering the entire city of Ulaanbaatar was implemented,” said G. Munkhkhairkhan, Head of the Communication Division at the Mongolian National Police Agency. “The radio system was successfully used and introduced at COP17.”

Beyond COP17, the deployment represents a significant upgrade to Ulaanbaatar’s public safety communications infrastructure. Built on Hytera’s DMR trunking, dispatch and recording systems, the city-wide network connects frontline officers with command and dispatch teams, supporting reliable communications for both major events and routine police operations.

The successful deployment also highlights the long-standing partnership between Hytera and its local partner, Haitech International LLC.
