The Future Radio Network (RRF) continues its rollout across France. On 7 October, a launch meeting for the RRF was held at the Aude Prefecture, attended by the department’s security, emergency response and emergency medical services. The meeting focused on the next stages of deployment and on supporting local stakeholders in preparation for the arrival of the RRF.
This new stage is part of the preparations for the deployment of the RRF within the SDIS (Departmental Fire and Rescue Service) and the SAMU of Aude (Emergency Medical Services). The presence of a shared C15/CODIS operations centre is a key factor in strengthening coordination and information exchange among the organisations involved in the emergency response chain. The operational conditions during summer 2026, marked in particular by several major fires and tornado events, placed these services under considerable strain. This context strengthened the determination of departmental stakeholders to integrate the RRF into their operational communications.
Through this meeting, ACMOSS – the Agency for Operational Mobile Communications for Security and Emergency Services continues to support local stakeholders in deploying and adopting the RRF. The gradual introduction of the RRF within Aude’s emergency services will help strengthen their secure and resilient operational communications capabilities, supporting better coordination of both day-to-day emergency responses and crisis management.
