Over the past days, EUCCS Preparation (BroadEU.Net) partners convened in Brussels for the closing meeting of Stage 2, marking a significant milestone in advancing the European Critical Communication System (EUCCS).

Since the start of this stage in 2024, the consortium has made decisive progress in establishing testbeds to explore the technical capabilities required to realize EUCCS. Achievements include successive technical tests, dedicated pilot trials reflecting realistic operational scenarios, and the interconnection of Mission Critical Services (MCX) servers between contractors.

Building on these achievements, EUCCSPrep officially entered Stage 3 in July 2025. This new phase represents a major objective for the European Critical Communication System. Under their extended contracts, the four participating contractors will:

  • Deploy an MCX server and equipment in an additional country.

  • Interconnect their solutions with two other MCX servers provided by fellow contractors.

  • Further build upon the methodological and technical progress achieved in Stage 2.

Stage 3 will also feature a key trial in Italy scheduled for November, offering a concrete demonstration of the system’s interoperability in action. This new phase is a decisive step toward true pan-European interoperability and greater operational mobility for emergency response teams across Europe.
