At Comms Connect Melbourne 2025, Etherstack and STREAMWIDE announced a collaboration to offer their combined MCPTX solution as a managed service within the Australian and New Zealand markets.

The companies have committed to launching a hosted Communications-as-a-Service (CaaS) solution for the resources, utilities and transportation sectors, and to collaborate in public safety opportunities as they arise.

STREAMWIDE’s “Team on the run” (TOTR) application runs on iOS and Android based platforms, providing Mission Critical Push-To-Talk (MCPTT) communications. STREAMWIDE’s solution has been deployed nationally in France for public safety and the 2024 Paris Olympics, and they have recently been announced as a core technology supplier to AT&T for their FirstNet, built by AT&T offering to public safety agencies across the United States.

Etherstack’s world-leading LMR IWF (InterWorking Function) solution bridges cellular MCPTX applications such as STREAMWIDE’s to existing digital radio networks currently in use in mission critical applications, as well as the command and control solutions for the network operators.

The collaboration will see STREAMWIDE’s MCX Application Server hosted within Etherstack’s georedundant data centres across Australia, with Etherstack and STREAMWIDE providing in-country support services to separate and joint customers.

STREAMWIDE CEO, Pascal Beglin said, “The co-operation with Etherstack in Australia, and more broadly globally, makes good sense for STREAMWIDE and our customers. Etherstack’s multi decade experience in traditional digital LMR technologies across all regions and major protocols such as P25, TETRA and DMR combined with their world leading position in MCX InterWorking Function (IWF)

capability made them an obvious choice for partnering.”

David Deacon, CEO of Etherstack said, “We have been working in the background with STREAMWIDE for some time now and were impressed by the maturity of their product and global reach. Our products and teams work well together, so the decision to partner and cross-represent in the Australian market to pursue CaaS opportunities was easy. We think that combination of the products together provides extraordinary capabilities to the end user communities.”
