The Electronic Communications Committee (ECC) of the European Conference of Postal and Telecommunications Administrations (CEPT) and the 450 MHz Alliance have signed a Letter iot of Understanding (LoU) to establish closer cooperation in the area of radio frequency spectrum management, specifically in the 400 MHz range.

The agreement reflects a shared interest in supporting the efficient use of spectrum for wireless broadband and IoT connectivity. It outlines the intention of both parties to exchange information, pursue compatible approaches where possible, and allow for mutual observer participation in meetings covering topics of joint relevance.

The ECC, representing European governmental bodies, and the 450 MHz Alliance, a global non-profit industry association, will collaborate in areas such as spectrum harmonization, standardization, and ecosystem development for 3GPP-compliant technologies in the 380–470 MHz band.

Under the LoU, the parties will share relevant, non-confidential documents and program updates. Observers from each organization may attend meetings of the other to support alignment on technical and policy initiatives.
