Caltta Technologies, a global provider of professional wireless communications solutions, has successfully implemented a mission-critical wireless communications network supporting police and fire services along Tianjin Metro Line Z4 Phase I (North Section). The deployment enhances operational safety and ensures reliable communications across the newly commissioned metro corridor.
Officially inaugurated on January 18, 2026, the new metro line represents a major infrastructure development serving the Binhai New Area, strengthening regional mobility and expanding the urban rail transit network. The 23.8-kilometer route extends from Zhaishang Station to Beitang Station and connects key development zones across the region. The line includes ten elevated stations, a maintenance depot, a backup control center, and dedicated metro police facilities.
Reliable Communications for Critical Operations
As the principal supplier of critical communications systems for emergency services on the line, Caltta deployed a digital trunking solution designed to support both routine operations and emergency response.
The system utilizes 350MHz DMR base stations installed across all stations, providing continuous wireless coverage throughout station halls, platforms, and access areas. Dispatch consoles located at metro police stations enable centralized command and coordination across the entire network.
The communications infrastructure is integrated with the metro police switching center and municipal public security command systems, ensuring seamless coordination between field personnel and command authorities.
Scalable SDR-Based Architecture
The deployed solution complies with DMR standards and incorporates advanced Software Defined Radio (SDR) multi-carrier technology to deliver secure, reliable, and scalable communications.
The SDR-based platform enables flexible system expansion and software-based upgrades without significant hardware changes. This approach simplifies deployment and maintenance while reducing both capital and operational costs over the system lifecycle.
Enabling Safer Urban Mobility
The commissioning of Tianjin Metro Line Z4 Phase I is expected to enhance connectivity between Hangu Old Town, Sino-Singapore Eco-City, and surrounding economic zones, supporting regional development and improved urban mobility.
“We will continue to support urban rail transit and public safety agencies with advanced professional communications solutions aimed at improving safety, operational efficiency and smart-city development,” said Mr. Long, CEO of Caltta Technologies.
