During the I International Symposium on Critical Communications, the inauguration plaque for Bahia’s Integrated Digital Communication System was unveiled, marking the completion of the Narrowband Project, coordinated by the Public Security Department (SSP) and the State Government.

With an investment of R$ 240 million, the project represents a milestone in public security, modernizing radiocommunication across 404 municipalities and benefiting more than 14 million people. The technology behind this achievement was developed by Teltronic, a global leader in critical communication solutions.

Cutting-edge Technology for Public Security

The TETRA network, connecting 18 Integrated Communication Centers (CICOMS) and the Operations and Intelligence Center (COI) in Salvador, includes 454 radio base stations (ERBs) and 4,930 fixed, mobile, and portable radiocommunicators. This infrastructure consolidates one of the largest telecommunications networks dedicated to public security in Brazil.

Governor Jerônimo Rodrigues emphasized the importance of modernization: “The implementation of a 100% digital communication system will enable more efficient response to incidents across Bahia’s municipalities and contribute to reducing crime rates. We are already seeing tangible results, with decreasing crime rates in various regions.”

Positive Impact on the Population and Security Forces

The modernization has brought agility and efficiency to the work of security forces and firefighters, integrating communication between teams and optimizing response times to incidents. According to SSP Secretary Marcelo Werner, the system is a benchmark in technology: “We have delivered one of the best and most complete digital TETRA telecommunication systems in the country. This innovation is essential for the daily operations of police officers and for serving the public.”

Recognition During the Symposium

During the event, Governor Jerônimo Rodrigues, accompanied by Secretary Marcelo Werner and Superintendent of Telecommunications Major Moisés Travessa, visited the Teltronic stand. The officials had the opportunity to closely examine the equipment that makes up the system, recognizing the importance of this technological infrastructure for the state.

The director of Teltronic Brazil, Ricardo Floriani, highlighted the company’s commitment to delivering excellence in solutions: “We are proud to be part of this achievement, contributing to Bahia becoming a national reference in innovation and efficiency in public security.”
