Thales is thrilled to announce the creation of a new joint venture with Benha Electronics Company, aimed at boosting the production of critical communication solutions within Egypt. This collaboration will focus on manufacturing state-of-the-art technology, including tactical radio communications, tactical networks, satellite communications, and information systems.

At Thales, collaboration and innovation are at the core of our mission. Partnering with Benha Electronics Company allows us to merge our expertise and resources to drive industrial growth and technological advancement in Egypt. Thales is a recognized leader in artificial intelligence, big data, quantum technologies, connectivity, and cybersecurity, among other fields.

Minister of State for Military Production, Engineer Mohamed Salah El-Din Mustafa, who witnessed the signing of the agreement, highlighted the venture's goal to enhance training, research, and development in communication devices and signal systems production. The joint venture will be established as an Egyptian joint stock company named Thales and Benha for Electronic Industries.

The minister noted that this initiative is part of the ministry's efforts to localize modern manufacturing technologies within its subsidiary companies in collaboration with global partners. Thales Global CEO, Engineer Sherif Barakat, announced that the manufacturing phases would commence immediately, with the aim of producing an Egyptian satellite communications product by 2025.

This joint venture builds on the memorandum of understanding (MoU) signed in December 2023 during the International Defense Industry Exhibition "EDEX 2023" in Egypt. Thales has a longstanding partnership with the French armed forces and plays a significant role in several modernization programs, including Scorpion for armored vehicles, MMCM for mine countermeasures, multi-mission frigates, and the PARADE counter-UAV system.

Following the MoU, Thales and military production representatives held several meetings to explore cooperation opportunities for localizing manufacturing technologies in both military and civilian sectors, leveraging the advanced technical capabilities of Benha Electronic Industries Company.
