Softil and its partners are set to make a significant impact at the upcoming International Wireless Communications Expo (IWCE) 2024 in Orlando, Florida, from March 25th to March 28th. The event promises to be a hub of activity within the mission-critical communications (MCX) industry.

A highlight of IWCE 2024 will be the debut of Qualcomm Technologies' innovative 5G-Sidelink technology, showcased in collaboration with Softil MCX solutions and Alea, a Leonardo company. This technology demonstration will spotlight 3GPP standards-based off-network/direct mode communications with extended range capabilities. Visitors to IWCE will have the opportunity to witness these groundbreaking technologies firsthand at Softil's booth #438 on Wednesday, March 27th at 13:30 and 14:30 at Leonardo's booth #1115, as well as on Thursday, March 28th at 11:00 am at Softil's booth and 12:00 pm at Leonardo's booth.

Pierre Hagendorf, CEO of Softil, emphasized the significance of Qualcomm Technologies' 5G-Sidelink technology in enhancing the MCX ecosystem, particularly in enabling off-network communication among first responders over extended distances. Direct Mode communication, facilitated by this technology, becomes essential when network coverage is insufficient or when direct communication is preferred for operational reasons.

Softil and Alea, a Leonardo company, stand at the forefront of developing fully standards-based direct mode interoperable Mission Critical Push-to-Talk (MCPTT) solutions. These solutions have undergone rigorous testing, including at the ETSI MCX Plugtest in late 2023 and the TCCA's CCBG meeting in Poland, demonstrating their readiness to deliver critical off-network functionality to users.

During IWCE 2024, Softil will showcase deployed MCX products developed by its partners using Softil's BEEHD MCX enabling technology, providing attendees with insights into live MCX network deployments.

In addition to these demonstrations, Softil's expertise will be featured in key panels at the IWCE conference. Sagi Subocki, Softil's VP of Products & Marketing, will participate in a panel discussion on "Deploying MCX Mission Critical Communications for First Responders in Real Life," addressing various aspects of mission-critical communications technology deployments.

Anatoli Levine, Softil's Director of Products & Standards, will join panels discussing "Mission-Critical Broadband around the World" and "Future Railway Mobile Communications Systems (FRMCS)," offering insights into global MCX technology rollouts and the evolution of railway communications, respectively. These engagements underscore Softil's commitment to driving innovation and enabling the advancement of mission-critical communications worldwide.
