The PMRExpo 2023 will take place in the exhibition halls of the Koelnmesse from 28 to 30 November. It is the leading European trade fair for Secure Communications. This event will be accompanied by a three-day summit with a wide-ranging programme covering current subjects such as cyber security, 5G campus networks, broadband networks for critical infrastructures and public safety as well as control centres, for secure mission- and business-critical communications and professional mobile radio applications.

Both users and experts from the industry, public authorities and research sectors using or selling critical communications systems will meet during the PMRExpo summit. Here they will discuss the latest technologies, security aspects and business opportunities, share knowledge and promote partnerships between different industries and users.

The three-day summit deals with private broadband networks and especially 5G campus networks – particularly in the context of Industry 4.0. Important topics presented and discussed will be digitization, reliability and security of communications as well as increased efficiency through 5G campus networks. Regarding critical infrastructure concerns, the discussions and lectures will cover, inter alia, protection against cyber-attacks and physical threats as well as interoperability between different systems and technologies. For the public safety target group, the agenda includes topics such as mission-critical broadband communications (4G/5G), deployment of broadband networks with regard to the expectations for and impacts on public safety, cross-network end-to-end solutions as well as step-by-step migration of critical communication services towards broadband solutions. Summit topics covering control centres include, for example, the integration, operation and use of applications on business terminals; communication improvement between operations centres through mission-critical broadband applications; artificial intelligence for decision support as well as IT security / cyber security for increasing the resilience of control centres.

Alexander Wolff, Director of the PMRExpo Koelnmesse said: ”Together with PMeV, we are very pleased and look forward to offering visitors to this year’s PMRExpo trade fair such a comprehensive summit programme covering the most important issues, challenges and developments of this industrial sector. The increasing internationalization of the event, larger exhibition space booked and higher number of exhibitors compared to last year confirm the continuous conceptual development of the PMRExpo and summit. Thus, we will be offering a unique platform to all qualified participants for exchanging ideas and information on topics such as 5G, migration towards broadband networks/services and cyber security. This will most definitely be an excellent opportunity!”

As the leading European trade fair for secure communications, the PMRExpo brings together users, manufacturing companies, network operators, service providers and further experts from the research and development sector. It offers the ideal platform for gaining information on current and future developments important for all users already operating professional mobile radio systems and thus dedicated networks. Simultaneously, it addresses new users requiring dedicated networks for highly reliable and secure mission- and business-critical communications in the future, particularly in the context of digitization.

“Due to the rapid development of industrial and governmental sector digitization, the importance of data communication is strongly increasing in the area of mission- and business-critical mobile broadband communications. This will also lead to new opportunities for users active in sectors that have so far not been among the main target groups of Professional Mobile Radio, such as manufacturing and logistics companies as well as the healthcare sector and many others”, explained Michael Rosenzweig, Managing Director of the Bundesverband Professioneller Mobilfunk (PMeV). PMeV is conceptual carrier of the PMRExpo.
