NEC Software Solutions (NECSWS) has been awarded an initial 7-year contract to deliver anew hosted Command, Control and Integrated Communication System for Humberside Fire and Rescue Service (HFRS) following a competitive procurement process.
The move will give staff and call handlers the latest tools and real-time information they need to quickly dispatch fire appliances to incidents based on their proximity and capability, ensuring fast and effective responses to emergencies.
The fully integrated, cloud-based system will provide users the latest in Control Room solutions, increased user functionality and an improved user interface. The cloud-based system will also enable improved collaboration with other Fire Services that choose to adopt the same technology.
Hosted in NEC data centres the system will be accessible from HFRS’s control room locations to provide resilience and will also include a live video streaming facility and a mobile application for use by officers.
Phil Shillito, Chief Fire Officer at Humberside Fire and Rescue said: “This is a major milestone in advancing our Control Room capabilities, ensuring that we remain at the cutting edge of Fire Control technology. The commitment and dedication of colleagues has been instrumental in reaching this stage. We are excited to see the positive impact these new features, like 999Eye and the Mobilising App, will have on both our communities and our staff.”
Paul Eggleton, Business and Product Development Director, NECSWS said: “We are delighted to be continuing our partnership with Humberside Fire and Rescue Service. Our intergrated Vision and D3000 Control Room solution will give them access to all the information they need in a Control Room Solution to ensure fire appliances can be mobilised quickly and effectively”.
The system is due to be fully rolled out in early 2026.
