The Ministry of the Interior of the German federal state of Bavaria has awarded a framework contract to Motorola Solutions to deliver up to 55,000 ADVISOR TPG2200 TETRA two-way radio pagers to the federal state’s emergency services.
When road accidents, natural disasters and other dangerous events occur, Bavaria relies on the state’s firefighters, emergency personnel and healthcare workers to secure public safety. In these critical moments, fast, reliable and encrypted digital communication is of crucial importance. Motorola Solutions’ two-way pagers alert emergency services via the nationwide TETRA digital radio network, which is optimised for robust and reliable performance in all conditions. The ADVISOR TPG 2200 TETRA pagers have a lightweight, rugged and compact design which ensures that they can be carried easily in all scenarios. When an emergency occurs, users can easily read and respond to alerts on the pager’s bright, two-inch colour display, even in situations with low visibility. The device is IP54 rated for dust and water protection with a battery life of up to 48 hours to last well beyond the average shift. “Fire, ambulance and rescue organisations rely on a network of trained volunteers to respond to emergencies. Those volunteers need reliable and robust technology to raise the alert,” said Axel Kukuk, regional sales lead and country manager for Germany at Motorola Solutions. “The project marks another major milestone for Motorola Solutions’ TETRA pager deliveries for Bavaria, as the company has already signed contracts with the state's Ministry of Interior for 80,000 TETRA pagers that are used by its fire brigades and ambulance service”. The scope of the framework agreement includes a TETRA Integrated Terminal Management (iTM) solution that enables emergency services to manage software upgrades remotely, helping to minimise labour and operational costs.
