Hytera Communications (SZSE: 002583), a leading global provider of professional communications technologies and solutions, participated in the 4th Future Railway Mobile Communication System (FRMCS) Plugtests in Sophia Antipolis, France, from July 1 to 5. This event was organized by ETSI with support from the European Commission (EC), the European Free Trade Association (EFTA), the Critical Communications Association (TCCA), and the Union Internationale des Chemins de fer (UIC) , providing strong support for railway transformation.

The FRMCS, based on the 3GPP Mission Critical Services (MCS), is being developed to address the growing demands of modern railway communication, which cannot be fully met by the existing standard for railway telecommunication services – GSM-R. FRMCS leverages advanced cellular technologies (such as LTE and 5G) to provide much higher data rates and capacity. This allows for high reliability and low latency communication services, including real-time video, high-speed data transfer, and more.

As part of the MCX Plugtests program, the FRMCS Plugtests event is to validate the interoperability of various implementations using different test scenarios based on the 3GPP MCS framework with focus on the rail specific features. The event provides a platform for industry leaders to collaborate and ensure their products meet the standards 3GPP, ETSI, and IETF set forth. Over 150 participants representing 45 companies were involved in over 500 interoperability test cases this year.

Throughout the testing period, Hytera HyTalk MC solution, including the 5G Rugged Device PNC560, MCX Application Servers, and MCX Client, demonstrated seamless interoperability with other vendors' equipment, ensuring that railway operators can benefit from a broad ecosystem of compatible devices and systems. This achievement underpins Hytera's position as a trusted partner in the global railway communications market.

Hytera continues to invest in the end-to-end MCS solution and has become one of the few vendors that provide a holistic MCS solution. Hytera's HyTalk MC Solution for Sri Lanka Railway (SLR) won the Best Use of Critical Communications in Transport at the 2022 International Critical Communications Awards (ICCA).

"The completion of the 4th ETSI FRMCS Plugtests event highlights our dedication to developing cutting-edge communication solutions that meet the evolving needs of the railway industry. Our participation in the Plugtests not only validates the interoperability of our products but also reinforces our commitment to delivering reliable and future-proof solutions to our customers," said Ms. Dejun Deng, Product Manager of Hytera HyTalk MC Solutions.
