AT&T announced four new solutions for the FirstNet network, including a new mission-critical push-to-talk (MCPTT) solution and improved interoperability and security capabilities.

“We are here to serve America’s first responders with new tools and technologies on their network, helping to ensure they have access to the information they need, when they need it,” said Jason Porter, president, public sector and FirstNet AT&T. “We continue to innovate new solutions and improve existing ones to give public safety a seamless, interoperable experience and equip first responders with better situational awareness.”

First, the AT&T is collaborating with Motorola Solutions to deliver a new MCPTT solution that will be available in the winter. The solution will allow agencies to use Motorola’s cloud-based Critical Connect for interoperability. The FirstNet platform will provide options for connectivity between LMR systems, the new MCPTT solution and AT&T Enhanced Push to Talk (EPTT).

Next, AT&T is providing the MissionKeeper solution from KSI Data Sciences. The solution is a streaming software that gives multiple users access to live streamed video and data from drones, submersibles, robots, dash cams and other internet of things (IoT). The software provides instant scalability to allow teams to better collaborate and make field-based decisions more quickly from any location. 

The NetMotion by Absolute solution provides a mobile first virtual private network (VPN) that helps accelerate, optimize and secure mobile device traffic directly to the dedicated FirstNet network core, which improves the user experience by providing resilient connectivity both inside and outside the coverage area. NetMotion is a mobile VPN solution that has been adopted by my public-safety agencies, and FirstNet has expanded its relationship with NetMotion by offering multiple ways for public safety to gain access to the solution.

Finally, AT&T introduced FirstNet Messaging, a highly secure, group notification and messaging services that integrates seamlessly with a wide range of notification applications.
