Citymesh continues to make strides towards a full-service technology company, acquiring the established PS: Radiocom. With their experience and expertise, Citymesh set up a new division specialising in mission- and business-critical solutions, led by Sylvie Debaere. This allows them to offer an even broader range of technological solutions.
"In the beginning, there was some doubt concerning the takeover, because we really wanted to stick to our values and our way of working: close to the customer, flexible and a good working atmosphere. But soon it became clear that we’re on the same page as Citymesh," Sylvie Debaere and Peter Borgoo, owners of PS: Radiocom, tell us. "We have the same goal in mind and we’re happy to walk the same path towards that goal."
Simplistically formulated, PS: Radiocom ensures people’s workplace safety by providing them with critical communication solutions. Traditional speaking in group - voice communication - used to suffice, but customers are increasingly demanding more from their radio communication network such as integration with video surveillance, LTE and 5G. For example, a smart camera can trigger an alarm, after which security automatically receives a message on the radio. But functionalities such as dispatching and push-to-talk over cellular are also increasingly in demand. PS: Radiocom has built a marvelous customer portfolio out of it, with players in petrochemicals, logistics and security. And every summer they support lifeguards at the Belgian coasts.
Sylvie Debaere: "That, of course, is where the strength of the acquisition lies. We follow the market closely and the demand for integrated solutions continues to grow, connecting an integrated network using smart technology. Citymesh has the IT knowledge we lack and we can complement their expertise. The demand was already existing among customers, now we’re going to be able to support them even better, together with Citymesh's complementary services."
Joeri Tranchet, COO Citymesh Group: "PS: Radiocom is a tremendously strong addition to our new division around critical solutions. As Sylvie pointed out, we are getting more and more demand for all-in-one solutions, where the result is more important than the technology used. We now offer the full spectrum, from radio to LTE, from wifi to private networking and 5G. Complemented by our strong service and cool people, of course."
